Overview

Department of Zoology of Science College Pauni, Dist. Bhandara has been there since its inception from session 1987-88. The department has newly renovated specious laboratory which is well equipped with instruments for conducting practical and research work. Teachers of department play important role for promotion of research and extension work in Zoology.

Faculties of department are recognized supervisors of R T M Nagpur University for Ph.D. However being in rural area the department is not recognized centre for research by University, the students do research under the guidance of faculties of this department for Ph D work from other recognized centers and one student awarded Ph D while two other students are working on research for Ph D.

Department received grants of Rs. 6,56000/- from Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Divisional Office, Nagpur for training and promotion of Beekeeping activities in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

Throughout the year department conduct various activities such as Wildlife Week celebration, Snake awareness, vormi composting, Beekeeping, Sericulture, study tour, guest lectures from prominent personalities of ther respective fields for overall development and scientific temperament among the students.
